Government’s Pride Month 2024 statement

The Royal Government of Hokoria have released a statement regarding LGBTQ+ Pride Month 2024.

It’s June, which means it’s Pride Month! There are millions of LGBTQ+ people around the world, each in different situations.

Some people are able to freely be LGBTQ+, whilst others are criminalised and discriminated against. In the UK alone, hate crimes against trans people has increased by 186% in the last 5 years. Similarly, hate crime because of sexual orientation has increased by 112% in the last 5 years.1

Pride is about celebrating LGBTQ+ communities around the world, and understanding that there is still work to be done.

We wish a Happy Pride Month to all LGBTQ+ Hokorians and LGBTQ+ people across the world.
